Magic, meditation, college planning, authors and herbs among topics covered
During November, Friends of the El Cerrito Library members will be receiving bright pink postcards reminding them to renew their memberships, and perhaps add a few extra dollars as well.
This request comes not long after the Friends’ big annual book sale at the end of September. So, you may be wondering, where does the money go?
The short answer is to support programs in the library.
Since June, the Friends have contributed $5,032 toward more than 20 programs covering a wide range of community interests, including:
- Prize books for the kids’ summer reading program
- A show about bees for children
- Three magic shows, including one on Halloween
- Green art workshops for adults and teens
- A weekly meditation program
- Programs on herbs and apothecary for adults
- Two author appearances
- A program for teens on affordable college
- Bento box lunches for young people
- A visit by the Bay Area Discovery Museum
We appreciate your support!
