The week of April 3rd is National Library Week. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a time to celebrate the importance of libraries, library workers, and to promote and support libraries everywhere, especially in El Cerrito.
The 2022 Library Week theme is Connect with Your Library, which promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using broadband, computers, and other digital resources available at our library.
More importantly, libraries also connect people to others and to their communities. Libraries play an essential role in transforming lives and strengthening communities. National Library Week is a chance to recognize libraries and library workers for all they do for us every day.
Please join the Friends of the El Cerrito Library and the El Cerrito Library Foundation in this celebration:
- Visit our El Cerrito Library. It offers opportunities to connect with technology, digital resources and educational programs.
- Follow the El Cerrito Library, Friends, and the Foundation on their websites, Facebook, and Instagram to stay connected to all our library has to offer.
- Become a social media ambassador. Share your love of our library with your friends and family on your social media accounts.
- Show your support for our library workers by saying thank you next time you visit our library at 6510 Stockton Ave., El Cerrito, CA 94530.
You can also donate to our library by supporting either the El Cerrito Friends of the Library or The El Cerrito Library Foundation.
Both groups raise money to support extra hours, books, and programs at our Library. The Foundation focuses especially on the need to build a new library for El Cerrito. Thank you.
